We all go through tough times throughout our lives and most of the time, we have people close to us to help us make it through.

There are also times when we are worried about the mental health and well-being of those closest to us.

St Helens Mind provides mental health and wellbeing support to people aged 18+. Telephone 01744 647089

North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust have an Assessment and Home Treatment team. They are available 9am-9pm, seven days a week. Call the team on 01744 621688. There is also a 24/7 out of hours support number: 0151 676 5263

The Chrysalis Centre for Change in St Helens is a women’s mental health charity that offers a range of support including counselling, drop-in service, Positive Me Programme for depression, stress and anxiety management, domestic abuse support and creative crafts therapy. Telephone 01744 451309


The St Helens BOSS website has been designed by young people for young people. The BOSS website is free, safe and confidential and supports the wellbeing and mental health of young people aged 11-19 years living in St Helens.


Childline offers advice and support for children and young people on a wide range of issues such as bullying, stress and anxiety. Childline has a FREE confidential helpline that is available 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Call 0800 1111. Instant chat support with a counsellor is also available.


Papyrus provide support and help to prevent suicide in young people. Their helpline provides practical advice and information to children and young people (up to 35) who are worried about themselves, or anyone who is concerned about a young person.
