Following meetings held on the evening of Thursday 19/3/20, it was agreed that schools would stay open to key workers children, the list of who will be classed as key workers is below:
- Social workers (children’s & adults)
- Teachers Assistants
- Civil Services
- LA Staff
- Early Help
- Early years providers
- Residential workers
- Fire and rescue
- Armed forces
- Forster Carers (Do they have other jobs?)
- Prison Staff
- Food Bank
- Homeless services
- School support staff (care taking)
- ICT Services (underline key workers group)
- NHS Staff
- Send Team/ support
- Delivery Drivers
- Care workers
- Refuse collectors/ street cleaners
- Therapeutic services
- Commissioned Services.
St Helen’s UNISON believes this will be the case for next week leading up to the Spring break Easter period. Further meetings, being held early next week to discuss action plans, should allow for further direction for schools availability over the 2 week holiday period.
Moving forward, as yet it is unclear what direction will be taken following the holiday period but we will do our utmost to keep you informed, as and when we have up to date information.
