UNISON is one of the largest trade unions in both the UK and Europe, serving more than 1.3 million members. We represent full-time and part-time staff who provide public services in both the public and private sector.
Most people will join a union because they recognise the protection that this will give them at work, whether that is help with pay and conditions, health and safety in the workplace, legal issues or workplace representation when they need it.
Here at UNISON St Helens we pride ourselves on giving our members the best help we can by using our network of workplace stewards as well as our highly experienced branch based convenors. All our workplace stewards and convenors are externally TUC trained and receive regular refresher training. We have a team of dedicated administrative staff that ensure the branch is effectively managed. All branch staff, officers and stewards are backed up by our regional and national resources.
As well as representing our members on a daily basis, UNISON St Helens has been successful in winning a number of high profile employment cases that have been of great benefit to members.
Anyone can face problems at work every now and then but as a member of UNISON, you don't have to face them alone.
